I developed solid foundations in simulation-driven design. By appropriately limiting prototyping costs, I successfully leveraged structural and thermal simulations to drive product innovation.
As an integral part of the simulation workflow, I developed proficiency in the 3D parametric modelling of products. My experience primarily spans aerospace, biomedical, and sports product design.
Driven by my passion for software development, I've successfully deployed moderately complex software solutions for automation and web development. This experience has allowed me to practice various programming techniques and best practices.
I successfully designed, prototyped, and planned the manufacturing of several products for the drone and sports industries. Through this experience, I gained a comprehensive overview of the sector, including its future potential and current limitations.
My professional career has refined my creativity, which stems from the ability to abstract concepts and connect different fields. Curiosity and passion are the key ingredients in this process.
Through formal education and professional experience, I've developed a keen sense of strategy definition and change management. I've successfully led such initiatives in startup environments.
Rooted in my formal education, I honed my analytical skills through consistent practice. This involved breaking complex problems into manageable parts, setting clear priorities, adopting a pragmatic approach, and documenting learning.
Through my experience in several startups, I witnessed the ongoing tension between structured management and chaotic implementation. This taught me the value of balance and pragmatism when introducing organizational structure.
I contributed to the development of civil drones for territorial mapping. During my time at Wingtra, I led the engineering of test benches to collect and process flight fatigue and landing impact data. The project involved building and testing both the physical bench and the software routines to operate it. This bench allowed my team to validate several requirements simultaneously and provided the GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) team with preliminary control-surface dynamic data.
On behalf of our customer, I led a project to develop a lower-limb prosthesis for amputees in developing countries. I was responsible for both project management and technical implementation. The project allowed me to introduce several innovations, such as machine learning for structural design. The project also taught me valuable lessons in aligning customer expectations with project management tasks. Recently launched, the product is now available for sale.
I led the digitalization initiative for a small NGO supporting talented students from impoverished backgrounds in Nairobi's Kibera slum. The project involved creating a centralized database and streamlining the workflow to track student applications, evaluations, and selections. My main challenge was choosing a suitable technology stack for an organization operating with limited educational and financial resources.
